Tomorrow morning at 3:15am, I and 14 or 15 other people from my church (including my brother) are embarking on a journey to the Dominican Republic. I'm excited about it, especially since this is my 4th time down, but I have also been extremely busy rushing about the house collecting everything I need. It seems like there is so much to remember, but I'm glad that I'm almost finished and only have a few more things to get together. I'm exhausted now, mainly because I'm trying to fight off a cold that decided to keep me company :). Today is the worst day, but I'm hoping that from now on I'll only get better!
My grandma has called us several times saying that she is really worried about Ben and I going down because of all the horrible things going on in Haiti. The earthquakes were bad, and I know there is a lot of unrest going on there. I haven't really worried about it too much, for I know that I am in God's hands no matter where I go, and that He will watch over me and protect me. But I am curious to see if things are different and how the Haitians that we meet have reacted to the destruction. I pray that we can show them the hope of our Savior.
I can't wait to see what all will happen this week! I hope I can use every minute wisely, and not waste a second :).
I'll post again when I get back, hopefully with lots of pictures!
5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars;
he puts the deep into storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the people of the world revere him.
9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
Psalm 33:5-9
